Robert A. Sallette, Sr., 93, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his home. Mr. Sallette was a native of Jacksonville and was the son of the late Willie Fred Sallette and Leona Creech Sallette. He retired in 1968 from JEA after 27 years of service and was a member of Dinsmore Baptist Chruch. Mr. Sallette enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters: Ruth (Bob) Foye, Hautense (Coburn) Eason and Lil (Hubert) Burns and a brother: Bully (EvaLee) Sallette. He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Ann Sallette; son: Robbie (Linda) Sallette, Jr.; 3 grandchildren: Brian (Spring) Sallette, Andrew (Sommer) Sallette and Mark (Dondee) Sallette; 6 great grandchildren: Addie, Harlee, Riley, Harper, Blake and Emma and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Dinsmore Baptist Church, 10500 Old Kings Road, with Dr. E. Winson Butler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the service. A burial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Bosque Belle Cemetery in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Brenda Cheryl “Cher” Lovelly, 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in a local hospital. Cher was born in Augusta, Georgia and was daughter to the late Thomas Daniel Gingery, II and Clara Parnell Gingery. She worked for many years as a floral designer for Winn Dixie, Kuhns and Pedal Pushers in Ocala. She was a crafter and enjoyed sewing, interior decorating, fishing and loved NASCAR. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard T. “Rick” Lovelly, Sr. in 2009 and is survived by her 3 daughters: Rhonda Gamble, Heather Hughes and Misty Walker; a grandson: Allie Hughes; 2 sisters-in-law: Rose (Gary) Walker and Susan (Larry) Dixon and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the Event Center at Peeples, 14165 N. Main Street, with Rev. Bill Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane #2). Her family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Billy J. Vaught, 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in a local care center. Mr. Vaught was born in Granite City, Illinois and was son to the late Homer Monroe Vaught and Ann Alberta Vaught. He was a graduate of Dexter High School in Dexter, MO and a Veteran of the US Navy. He retired from the City of Jacksonville after 30 years service. Mr. Vaught enjoyed golf, fishing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He always enjoyed their yearly pilgrimage to watch the Cardinals spring training and watching the Jaguars and Gators. Mr. Vaught is survived by his wife: Maria Vaught; 2 children: Dana Byers and Thomas Vaught; 2 step-children: Warren Kent Kegebein, Jr. (Athena Hillman) and Maria Merk (Harald); 2 sisters: Lavona Lunbeck (Raymond) and Cathy Williams (Brad); a brother: Danny Vaught (Mary); 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the Event Center at Peeples, 14165 N. Main Street (Building C) with Mr. Craig Carlson officiating.
